Job summary

OMIC USA Inc. in Portland, Oregon is seeking Analytical Chemists for the Inorganic Chemistry department. The role involves performing ICP- and MS-based analyses, data interpretation, and contributing to method improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or related hard science from a four-year college or university, or equivalent experience.
• Chemist 2: 3+ years of experience; Chemist 3: 5+ years in AA, ICP-MS, ICP-QQQ instrumentation.
• Experience creating/running analytical sequences and data analysis in a high-throughput lab.
• Experience with MS/AAS/ICP instrumentation and data reporting.

Responsibilities

• Operate ICP with MS/QQQ detection and related instrumentation.
• Conduct sample prep and chromatographic separations (HPLC) for ICP-MS/QQQ analyses.
• Evaluate data using vendor software packages; report results with QA/QC data.
• Perform routine and non-routine analyses; discuss complex issues with Group Leader.
• Ensure methods are followed and data packages comply with ISO 17025.
• Enter data into LIMS and maintain reference materials and standards.
• Support Chemist 1 and assist with extractions when needed.
• Troubleshoot instruments and perform calibration and preventive maintenance.
• Develop and update SOPs and controlled documents.
• Participate in training and internal/external meetings to keep current.
