Job summary

Jobtailor seeks a seasoned technologist to support senior DoD leadership in technology protection. You will guide strategies protecting critical data, interact with top executives, and coordinate across the protection community. A strong background in program management and AI-enabled security is essential.

You will operate in a high-stakes environment, delivering briefs and reports to leadership while guiding cross-functional teams on protection initiatives and lifecycle management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree with 5–10 years of experience in a relevant area.
• Active TS/SCI clearance with willingness to submit to a polygraph.
• U.S. Citizenship required to obtain/hold a security clearance.
• Experience in technology protection fields (cybersecurity, research security, SCRM, etc.).
• Experience with DoW or federal government bureaucratic processes.
• Emerging leader with a bias for action and team collaboration.
• Experience with problem framing on complex technical issues.
• Experience with project management processes and tools.
• Experience or interest in AI and programming languages such as Python, R, Ruby, Rust, or Julia.

• Serve as a key member of a small team supporting a Senior Executive body on technology protection-related matters
• Provide expertise and ideas to team members and senior Department of War leaders in developing and implementing strategies to protect critical technology data
• Support high-ranking Department of War Senior Executives and interact with other Senior Executives, Flag/General Officers, and support staffs
• Analyze and provide recommendations on the full spectrum of Department of War technology protection-related matters, from research through capability deployment/employment
• Coordinate with technology protection community representatives across the full capability lifecycle
• Compare, analyze, and evaluate the relative merits of program activities and alternatives
• Prepare reports and briefs summarizing formal events, commentary, requirements, deficiencies, and investments for programs, systems, and activities
• Provide project management and task management expertise to team workflows and topics addressed by the Executive body

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in a relevant area with 5-10 years of experience
• Active TS/SCI clearance, with a willingness to submit to a polygraph
• U.S. Citizenship Required for the purposes of obtaining/holding a U.S. security clearance
• Experience with or real-world exposure to a technology protection-related field or topic, including research security, economic security, cybersecurity, SCRM, or industrial base protection
• Experience with DoW or federal government bureaucratic processes
• Emerging leader with a bias for action and preference for working collaboratively on small, mission-oriented teams
• Experience with problem framing on complex technical issues
• Experience with project management processes and tools
• Experience or interest in leveraging AI, preferably with working knowledge of a relevant programming language such as Python, R, Ruby, Rust, or Julia
• Experience effectively prioritizing personal workload to meet deadlines and work objectives
• Proficiency with MS Office Suite and other desktop applications
