We are seeking a proactive, self-driven Analyst or Associate with technical, financial, and/or commercial experience in the renewable energy sector or related fields to join 38DN’s Asset Management Team. The role will support management of 38DN’s growing portfolio of operating solar and battery storage assets, including performance analysis, operational and investor reporting, cash management, and oversight of O&M and community solar customer management providers. Title will be determined by experience.
This position is ideal for candidates with direct experience managing operating solar assets who want to help build and scale the asset management function within a growing, entrepreneurial platform, and who are comfortable working in a less structured environment. The role will interface directly with 38DN’s Leadership Team, as well as the Development, EPC, Project Finance, and Corporate Finance Teams, and with lenders, investors, and third-party service providers.
Key Responsibilities
- Support management of a portfolio of operating solar and battery storage assets, working closely with the broader 38DN Team.
- Review technical and financial performance of assets against plan, identifying key variance drivers and seeking out opportunities to optimize performance.
- Prepare operational reporting for company management, investors, lenders, and other parties, and support monthly operations reviews.
- Take ownership of financial models that track investment performance and returns.
- Lead regular project cash management, including payments, debt service, and distributions.
- Interface with operations and maintenance contractors to ensure equipment issues are addressed in a timely manner and preventive maintenance is performed.
- Interface with community solar customer management firms to monitor performance, enforce contractual obligations, and maximize revenue.
- Manage third-party asset management consultants supporting the portfolio, where applicable.
- Populate and manage a contractual compliance database and ensure all related obligations are met on schedule.
- Onboard new projects into the asset management function in coordination with the Development, EPC, and Project Finance Teams.
- Support annual budgeting, forecasting, and insurance renewal efforts for the portfolio.
- Support asset management workstreams for new investment opportunities.
- Collaborate with team members to develop best-in-class asset management processes, systems, and procedures as the portfolio scales.

- Battery storage and/or community solar experience is a plus.
- Ability to connect technical, operational, contractual, and financial factors to make good decisions and explain outcomes.
- Intellectual agility and curiosity, with a strong analytical orientation.
- Active user of AI tools, with an interest in applying them to asset management workflows such as analysis, contract review, and reporting.

- An extremely high level of attention to detail.
- Capable of building trust and fostering positive working relationships inside the company and with third parties.
- Well-organized, vigilant, and competent in juggling multiple projects and priorities.
- Proficient in working under pressure, adhering to deadlines, producing accurate results, and embracing additional responsibilities proactively.
