Job summary

Wesco in Pittsburgh, PA is seeking an Analyst - Accounts Receivable to accurately record and verify payments, post and reconcile receivables, and generate routine delinquents reports. You will work under senior staff while developing a solid understanding of the company’s cash flow processes.

Responsibilities include applying receipts across Oracle, AS/400 and DAX systems, reconciling bank deposits, and interfacing with customers and branches to ensure correct remittance application.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s Degree in related field preferred.
  • 1 year of Microsoft Office (Outlook and Excel) experience required; 3 years preferred.
  • 1 year of Oracle, AS/400, DAX, or other ERP accounts receivable module experience preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of accounting reconciliations and accounts receivable preferred.
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines in a high-productivity environment is preferred.
  • Overtime work may be required monthly, including month-end and statement cutoffs.

Responsibilities

  • Manages daily transmission files (approximately 30) through processing steps; reviews receipts and remittance advices for AR system application and handles exceptions.
  • Posts and applies receipts (checks, credit card, ACH and wire) to customer accounts via data processing in Oracle, AS/400, Microsoft Dynamics/DAX.
  • Performs research, analysis, escalation, and resolution of cash application issues to ensure all cash and payments are completed.
  • Reconciles funds received to bank deposits.
  • Prepares required entries and supporting details when customers take a miscellaneous deduction.
  • Identifies funds to be transferred to other AR systems if receipts were deposited incorrectly or commingled with invoices.
  • Adheres to department policies and maintains confidentiality of client data.
  • Interfaces with customers, financial services teams, and branches to determine correct receipt remittance application.
  • Assists in resolving unidentified payments with financial services and customers.

Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent is required; Bachelors’ Degree in a related field is preferred.
  • 1 year of Microsoft Office products (Outlook and Excel) experience is required; 3 years preferred.
  • 1 year of Oracle, AS/400, DAX, or other ERP accounts receivable module, specifically cash application is preferred
  • Basic knowledge of accounting reconciliations and accounts receivable is preferred.
  • Ability to remain calm and work in an intense productivity environment with tight deadlines is preferred.
  • Ability to work overtime as needed (as monthly volume requires including but not limited to statement cutoff dates and month end which is mandatory overtime) is preferred.
  • Effective and efficient use of a 10-key calculator or numeric keypad for data entry is preferred.
  • Strong oral communication skills is required.
  • PC Windows experience is required.
  • Excel experience is required (V-look up and pivot table functions preferred).
  • Customer service oriented is required.
  • Team Player is required.
  • Ability to work independently with little or no supervision is required.

Compensation Details: $23.10 - $28.88 Per Hour

This amount is what we reasonably believe we will pay for the position; however, offer amounts may vary based on factors such as geographic location, relevant education, experience, qualifications, skills, shift, or any collective bargaining agreements.

For eligible positions, compensation may include participation in a bonus or sales incentive plan,subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable plan documents. For certain sales roles, Wesco also offers a commission structure that provides additional compensation based on sales results, as defined by the applicable commission plan.
