Job summary

Wesco in Hauppauge, NY is seeking a Union – Financial Services Associate to manage accounts receivable and collections for large, complex accounts. You will help achieve cash flow and expense goals, monitor DSO, and assist the manager with scheduling and prioritizing work.

Responsibilities include resolving invoice discrepancies with customer accounts payable, making collections calls on past due invoices, and coordinating with the sales team on disputes while ensuring adherence to GAAP and UCC

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 2 years of collections experience; construction or electrical contracting preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Knowledge of UCC regulations and lien laws.
• Understanding of finance, accounting, budgeting, cost control principles, and GAAP.
• Proficiency with financial software including HighRadius and Oracle.
• Strong Excel skills; VLOOKUP and Pivot Tables preferred.
• Customer service oriented with teamwork focus.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and meet deadlines.
• Knowledge of federal and state regulations.

Job Description

As a Union – Financial Services Associate, you will perform accounts receivable and collections functions for large and complex accounts within a branch or business unit. You will be responsible for customer accounts and accounts receivable portfolios. You will work to achieve cash flow and operating expense goals established by Financial Services leadership, including days sales outstanding (DSO), past-due percentage, and bad debt expense. You will check work and assist manager in scheduling, directing and controlling job assignments.

Responsibilities

• Work with customer accounts payable staff to determine payment/invoice discrepancies.
• Monitor past due invoices and make collections calls.
• Research and resolve customer inquiries.
• Work with sales team for dispute resolution and collection of past due customers.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 2 years of collections experience; experience within the commercial construction or electrical contractor industries preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Knowledge of UCC regulations and lien laws.
• Understanding of finance, accounting, budgeting, cost control principles, and GAAP.
• Proficiency with financial and accounting software applications, including HighRadius and Oracle.
• Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Excel; experience with VLOOKUP and Pivot Tables preferred.
• Customer service oriented with a commitment to delivering exceptional support.
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while effectively managing priorities and deadlines.
• Federal and state regulations.

Compensation Details: $23.00 - $33.00 Per Hour. This amount is what we reasonably believe we will pay for the position; however, offer amounts may vary based on factors such as geographic location, relevant education, experience, qualifications, skills, shift, or any collective bargaining agreements. For eligible positions, compensation may include participation in a bonus or sales incentive plan, subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable plan documents. For certain sales roles, Wesco also offers a commission structure that provides additional compensation based on sales results, as defined by the applicable commission plan. In addition, Wesco offers a benefits program for eligible employees, which may include paid time off, medical, dental, and vision coverage, and retirement savings plans.
