Job summary

Carowinds in Concord, NC is seeking a Level II Maintenance Technician to perform inspections, maintenance and repair of amusement rides and attractions. You will work varied shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays, and ensure safety and reliability of equipment such as gearboxes, chains, hydraulics, and brakes.

Requires 4–6 years of mechanical maintenance experience, with at least 2 years on rides, a high school diploma, and the ability to read blueprints and one-line diagrams.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of control processors, components, and communication networks used in real-time industrial applications.
• Experience with reading blueprints and one-line diagrams; able to decipher mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
• Experience maintaining amusement rides or similar heavy equipment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs daily, weekly, monthly, annual, and other required inspections of amusement rides and related equipment, taking corrective actions as issues are identified.
• Troubleshoots mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical systems and takes appropriate corrective actions.
• Maintains documentation of repairs, inspections, and work performed; submits required paperwork to supervision promptly.
• Communicates status of assigned rides verbally and in writing.
• Ensures equipment in a safe and ready condition per applicable codes, laws, and company policies.
• Reads manufacturer manuals and blueprints for service, repair, or component replacement.
