This position reports to

Engineering Manager - AMR

Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you will act as a design authority for an engineering discipline with low to medium complexity. As an AMR Controls/IT Software Engineer, you will be responsible for the engineering design and deployment of AMR Fleet management software at customer facilities, building standard libraries to improve programming efficiency, and developing new software interfaces to enable new product offerings and improvements.

This position contributes to the Robotics & Discrete Automation/AMR business at our HQ in Auburn Hills, MI. Main stakeholders are both internal and external customers.

Main responsibilities include:
  1. Customer Focused: Working with customers to shape and deliver solutions, seeking feedback to drive improvements.
  2. On Time Delivery: Ensuring project deliverables and engineering tasks are completed on time and within budget.
  3. Problem-Solving and Troubleshooting: Quickly resolving technical issues to minimize downtime.
  4. Collaboration: Working with other engineering disciplines to ensure system compatibility and functionality.
  5. Communication: Documenting and presenting software designs to customers and internal teams.
Qualifications for the role
  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering or Computer Science.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in Engineering, Automation, Robotics solutions development, or AGV/AMR Engineering/programming.
  • Willing to travel up to 50% (initial 6 months to 1 year for training).
  • Knowledge of C#, .NET.
  • Knowledge of SQL Server and database management.
  • Knowledge of communication protocols with PLCs, SCADA, MES, Kepware.
  • Experience with Rockwell, Siemens, PLC programming preferred.
  • Spanish language proficiency is a plus.
