Job summary

DC Army National Guard is seeking an Ammunition Specialist to ensure proper receipt, storage, documentation, and issuance of ammunition and related ordnance. You will learn to handle, test, and maintain missiles and rockets while following strict safety and regulatory standards.

The role includes training through 10 weeks of Basic Training and seven weeks of Advanced Individual Training, with paid instruction and opportunities for tuition assistance and other benefits.

Qualifications

• Military enlistment in the Army National Guard is required.
• Must be at least a junior in high school, or have a high school diploma or GED.
• Ages 17–35 must pass a physical exam and meet standards.
• Citizenship requirements apply as shown on NATIONALGUARD.com.

Responsibilities

• Receive, store, document, and issue conventional ammunition and related items.
• Perform stock control and accounting using automated and manual procedures.
• Inspect weapon systems to determine repair or disposal needs.
