Job summary

Pacific Seafood in Charleston is seeking an Ammonia Refrigeration Technician to maintain and troubleshoot ammonia, HVAC, boiler, and refrigeration systems at the seafood processing facility. You will perform maintenance, calibration, installation, and repairs, following Process Safety Management practices to reduce hazard risks and ensure reliable operations.

This position emphasizes hands-on technical work, documentation, and collaboration with team members and contractors to uphold safety

Qualifications

• High school or equivalent.
• Hands-on ammonia systems experience or training; or an equivalent mix of education, certification and experience.
• Process Safety Management (PSM) and maintenance experience.
• Strong knowledge of ammonia and refrigeration systems, including condensers and compressors.
• Eligible to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.
• Must be 18 years or older.
• Read, write and speak English fluently.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain large ammonia, HVAC, boiler, and refrigeration systems.
• Perform preventative maintenance, monitoring, and record-keeping.
• Troubleshoot issues with systems and document maintenance activities.
• Interpret equipment manuals and specifications.
• Collaborate effectively with Team Members and contractors.
