Role Description

This is a full-time remote role for an AML Manager at Gate US, a start-up cryptocurrency exchange building out its compliance program from the ground up to serve residents in the United States.

Reporting directly to the Head of Compliance & AML Officer, the AML Manager will lead and oversee the Company’s KYC, transaction monitoring, investigations and reporting processes. The role involves developing and implementing applicable policies, procedures, systems and controls, coordinating with cross-functional teams, and supporting the Compliance team in addressing regulatory inquiries.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage the KYC function, including onboarding, periodic reviews, and enhanced due diligence (EDD)
• Supervise and provide guidance to KYC and Transaction Monitoring analysts to ensure timely and accurate case handling
• Ensure timely escalation and resolution of high-risk customer cases
• Conduct investigations, draft and file SARs, and exchange information with financial institutions and law enforcement pursuant to Rules 314(a) & (b)
• Maintain and enhance AML policies, procedures, and controls in alignment with U.S. regulatory requirements
• Coordinate with Compliance, Legal, Risk, and Product teams to support business growth while managing regulatory risk
• Conduct quality assurance reviews and provide training to team members
• Prepare reports and metrics for senior management and regulatory audits

Qualifications

• Proven experience in AML, including supervisory or managerial responsibilities
• Strong analytical skills and in-depth knowledge of due diligence processes
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills; ability to manage a distributed team remotely
• Solid understanding of U.S. regulatory requirements including OFAC, FinCEN, and BSA
• Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
• Ability to work independently and decisively with minimal supervision or direction, identifying areas of need, researching requirements, and taking action to implement creative solutions
• Relevant certifications (e.g., CAMS, CFE, CFCS, CKYCA, CRCM) preferred
