Job summary

Core & Main is seeking a Project Manager for AMI deployment projects, including smart water meter installations and software integration. You will coordinate with subcontractors, vendor partners, and internal teams to ensure on-time, compliant execution of utility modernization initiatives.

The role requires 5–8 years in utility infrastructure and AMI, with PMP preferred, and regular travel to Norfolk, VA. Strong vendor management and data integration experience are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5–8 years in utility infrastructure, smart meter deployment, or related project management.
• PMP or similar certification preferred.
• Must be willing to travel regularly to Norfolk, VA.
• Experience with AMI technologies and smart water meter systems.
• Familiarity with utility software platforms and data integration.
• Strong vendor management and subcontractor coordination skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, and scheduling/reporting tools.
• Experience with municipal contracts and utility regulations.

Responsibilities

• Develops and monitors a project plan for each project with accurate timelines for collaboration of each department.
• Oversees integration of smart utility software platforms with customer systems for readiness and data accuracy.
• Coordinates project meetings with contractors and vendor partners, including kickoff and progress updates.
• Collaborates with other departments to ensure proper planning and execution of each project.
• Maintains and updates all project plans to ensure real-time accuracy.
• Shares best practices and supports cross-functional collaboration to strengthen AMI deployment strategies.
• Communicates regularly with field leadership on project needs and status and alerts leadership to barriers.
• Applies problem-solving skills to address deployment challenges and adheres to industry standards.
