Job summary

The AMHS Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) at Samsung Austin Semiconductor guarantees 24x7 reliability of the Material Control System and OHT Control System within the fab. You will design scalable data pipelines, implement observability with Prometheus and Grafana, and manage services with Docker and Kubernetes, improving MES integration and automating tooling to reduce toil.

This on-site role offers a base salary range of $90,000–$115,000 plus comprehensive benefits and annual incentives,

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum 3+ years in semiconductor-related industries or equivalent.
• Experience as Software Engineer, SRE, or DevOps in semiconductor fab environments.
• Hands-on experience in Software Engineering, SRE or DevOps roles.
• Strong background in Back-end Data Engineering, ETL, databases, and large-scale data pipelines.
• Observability with monitoring and visualization tools (Prometheus, Grafana) and middleware like RabbitMQ/Redis.
• Strong English communication and Linux/Unix administration skills.
• Experience with equipment control protocols (SECS/GEM) or MES is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Ensure high availability, performance, and scalability of AMHS software suite.
• Design, build, and maintain scalable back-end data pipelines and observability solutions.
• Troubleshoot software bottlenecks, IPC/RPC communications, and server issues to minimize fab downtime.
• Develop automation scripts for deployment, configuration management, and recovery.
• Lead reliability initiatives to modernize AMHS infrastructure using Python, Java, containers, and Kubernetes.
