Job summary

Samsung Austin Semiconductor is seeking an Automated Material Handling System (AMHS) Engineer to support factory automation, hardware management, and upgrades of AMHS equipment. The role includes installation through qualification, with focus on safety, efficiency, and cost, plus data analysis support from system logs to resolve issues.

Responsibilities include coordinating projects with internal customers and vendors, QA/QC, installation validation, and 24x7 on-call support for installations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (preferred Mechanical).
• 0 to 3 years of Automation Engineering experience.
• AutoCAD certification and/or working experience strongly preferred.
• Examples of successful project management and/or certification.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex systems in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Ability to communicate technical details both verbally and in writing.
• Must be able to lift >25 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Manage internal customers, vendors and contractors to complete assigned projects.
• Perform QA/QC of incoming equipment prior to acceptance.
• Coordinate parts shipping, receiving, storage, and staging.
• Oversee installation and validation of hardware and software upgrades.
• Communicate technical information (8D) to senior leadership inside and outside of department through presentations.
• Assist with preventative maintenance activities by providing awareness of system performance and reliability.
• Creates standard recovery procedures and troubleshooting documentation.
• Provide 24X7 support for installation projects (7 days within a month on-call support is required).
