Job summary

RISE Network in Connecticut seeks AmeriCorps On-Track Mentors to support ninth-grade students as they transition to high school and beyond. You will work in public high schools, providing data-driven, individualized mentoring and advocacy to help students graduate with a plan and a path to college or career.

This 10-month, full-time position is in-person with time split between partner schools in CT and RISE headquarters in New Haven.

Qualifications

• Strong communication with students, families, and educators.
• Experience with high school-age youth and families.
• Ability to track student progress and enter data.
• Ability to engage a diverse range of stakeholders.
• Proficiency with standard software (e.g. Google Suite).

Responsibilities

• Serve in a full-time, embedded role in public high schools.
• Support a caseload of Grade 9 students navigating academic, attendance, social, and behavioral challenges.
• Provide one-on-one coaching and mentoring to help students stay on track.
• Develop personalized plans and monitor progress with regular check-ins.
• Collaborate with teachers, counselors, and staff to coordinate interventions.
• Maintain accurate records of student meetings, interventions, and outcomes.
