Job summary

Blueprint Schools Network seeks AmeriCorps Math Fellows to deliver intensive, small-group math instruction during the school day, directly supporting students and building foundational skills. Fellows participate in onboarding, coaching, and collaborative planning within a year-long term of service.

The program emphasizes professional growth, equitable instruction, and a pathway from tutoring to teaching, with structured support and measurable impact for students and communities.

Qualifications

• Education: Current enrollment in a degree program, prior enrollment, or completion of an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree.
• Language Skills: Proficiency in English required; Spanish language skills are a plus.
• Core Competencies: Passion for educational equity, strong communication skills, empathy, adaptability, and a desire to work directly with students.
• Commitment: Ability to commit to the full school-year term of service and reliably commute to assigned school placement and schedule.
• Satisfy Blueprint and local school/district background screening requirements.

Responsibilities

• Deliver High-Impact Instruction: Lead daily, small-group math instruction during the school day for small cohorts of students.
• Data-Driven Support: Track student progress and adapt instructional approaches in real time using assessment data.
• Build Meaningful Relationships: Foster strong, trusting relationships with students to build academic confidence, engagement, and a positive mindset toward math.
• Collaborate with Educators: Partner closely with classroom teachers, school administrators, and fellow AmeriCorps members to align tutoring with classroom instruction.
• Engage in Professional Growth: Participate in daily planning sessions, 1-on-1 coaching, and structured professional development (up to 72 hours per year).
• Maintain Service Commitments: Complete required service hours over the course of the school year.
