Job summary

Pentair in Golden Valley, MN seeks a Regional Customs Compliance Specialist for the Americas to support customs and import/export compliance across North and South America, focusing on HTS classification, country of origin, FTA qualification, and related documentation.

You will maintain accurate records, assist with audits, and help train teams. Proficiency with ERP/SAP and Descartes CustomsInfo is a plus; travel up to 15% is expected. A Bachelor's degree and 3+ years in customs are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred; equivalent relevant experience considered.
• 3+ years of customs or trade compliance experience, preferably in U.S. import/export operations.
• Knowledge of HTS classification, country of origin, FTA qualification, and import/export documentation.
• Familiarity with U.S. trade remedy tariffs (e.g., Section 301/232) and export controls.
• Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint; ERP/SAP and customs software knowledge is a plus.
• Strong written and verbal English communication and detail orientation.

Responsibilities

• HTS classification governance, ensuring accuracy and defensibility across regional sites.
• Research classification questions and prepare determinations and records.
• Support country of origin determinations and maintain origin records for imports/exports.
• Assist with FTA qualification including supplier declarations and origin certificates.
• Track and resolve routine customs issues to maintain cross-border movement schedules.
• Support auditing, training, and standard operating procedures for trade compliance.
• Travel to regional sites as needed (up to ~15%).
