Job summary

Michigan Medicine seeks a Float Nurse in the Ambulatory Care Resource Pool within the department of surgical specialties. You will deliver direct nursing care to adult and pediatric patients in a fast-paced subspecialty surgical environment, with orientation available for new subspecialties and travel between Michigan Medicine facilities.

This role requires Michigan RN licensure, ACLS within 6 months, and 2+ years of relevant experience.

Qualifications

• Current licensure to practice nursing in Michigan (RN).
• ACLS certification required within 6 months of hire.
• Two years of RN experience in adult surgical settings or related areas.

Responsibilities

• Perform triage and nursing assessments, in-basket management and nurse visits.
• Provide direct patient care including wound management and pre/postoperative care.
• Administer sedation/analgesia under physician supervision and monitor hemodynamics.
