Job summary

The University of Michigan's Michigan Medicine in Ann Arbor is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Ambulatory Care Nurse Resource Pool within Surgical Specialties. Hours are 40 per week; shifts include days with possible weekends/holidays. Location varies across Michigan Medicine facilities; travel is required.

Qualifications

• Current licensure to practice nursing in the state of Michigan (RN).
• Two years of RN experience in adult inpatient surgical unit, adult outpatient surgical clinics, adult ED, or adult ICU within the last 3 years.
• ACLS certification required within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care across adult and pediatric surgical specialty populations.
• Perform phone triage, in-basket management, clinical advice and nurse visits.
• Administer sedation/analgesia under physician direction and monitor hemodynamic status.
• Document nursing care accurately and efficiently.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to promote continuity of care.
