Job summary

RWJBarnabas Health is recruiting a part-time Ambulatory Surgical Center Registered Nurse (RN) for the Jersey City Medical Center, ASC 1. This role focuses on perioperative care, patient assessment, and collaborative rounds within a fast-paced OR environment.

Qualified candidates hold an active NJ RN license (BSN preferred), with BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications. EPIC EMR experience is desired, and a strong commitment to teamwork and patient safety is essential.

Qualifications

• Active New Jersey RN license in good standing.
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications.
• Bachelor’s degree in nursing (BSN) or actively enrolled in BSN program.
• 2–3 years’ experience in PACU, ICU, Cath Lab, or Emergency RN roles.
• Proficient with EPIC or similar EMR systems.

Responsibilities

• Assist in perioperative nursing care in the OR and collaborate with the care team.
• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and monitor changes.
• Administer medications and treatments safely with clinical judgment.
• Document care accurately in the EMR and ensure patient safety.
• Support physicians and providers in care planning and rounds.
• Educate patients and families and coordinate transitions of care.
• Contribute to a collaborative team culture and ongoing professional growth.
