Job summary

Albany Med Health System seeks a Unit Coordinator for the Ambulatory Surgery unit on the Evening shift. The role provides customer service, clerical and reception support to ensure smooth workflow and accurate patient records.

The position requires strong communication, basic computer skills, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced healthcare environment. Mon - Fri, 12pm-8:30pm with no weekends.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with post-high school training or related work experience.
• One year healthcare or clerical experience preferred.
• Must communicate effectively with internal and external customers and be able to multitask.

Responsibilities

• Assembles/maintains patient records, filing data, and obtaining reports for operations.
• Greet and assist visitors courteously.
• Answer phones in a courteous manner.
• Record/relay messages accurately.
• Locate key personnel to direct calls and respond to inquiries.
• Make appointments and book rooms as necessary.
• Prepare and distribute outgoing reports via email and inter-departmental mail.
• Maintain department reports.
• Operate office machines such as photocopier, fax, and computer.
• Order materials, supplies, forms and services; complete records and reports.
• Utilize clinical/patient information systems to support patient care.
• Assist in implementing specialized projects.
