Job summary

Bridgeview Eye Partners in Itasca, IL is seeking a certified Surgical Scrub Technician to support surgeons and staff in our ambulatory surgery center, ensuring sterile technique and smooth operative flow. The role emphasizes patient care, adherence to infection control, and active participation in room setup, instrument handling, and post-procedure turnover.

Requires OR experience and current ACLS certification.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Prepare operating room, disinfect and assemble equipment for procedures.
• Assist surgeon and staff by passing sterile instruments and supplies during procedures.
• Maintain strict aseptic technique and report breaks to circulating nurse/surgeon.
• Isolate contaminated instruments to prevent infection spread.
• Receive specimens and prepare for laboratory analysis.
• Clean and restock operating room after each procedure.
• Maintain inventory of surgical supplies.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Nursing Director and physicians.

Education

High school graduate or equivalent

Current Cardiac Life Support certification

Surgical Technician training program

Surgical Technology certification

One year operating room experience

Membership in surgical specialty society encouraged
