Kelsey-Seybold Clinic, part of the Optum family, is seeking an Ambulatory Service Representative III in Houston, TX. The role blends patient access, billing support, and medical records coordination across a busy clinic. You will handle scheduling, registrations, cash handling, and frontline customer service in a fast-paced environment.

Strong EMR skills and MS Office proficiency are essential. Fluency in English is required; bilingual abilities (Spanish) are a plus.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED.
• 2+ years medical office experience including face-to-face customer service, cash handling, patient registration, appointment scheduling, medical billing, and multi-line phone experience.
• 1+ years of KSC experience as an Ambulatory Service Representative II.
• EMR experience.
• Familiarity with medical terminology.
• Solid computer skills and MS Office proficiency.
• Proven excellent customer service in person and by phone.
• Fluent in English, verbal and written.

The Ambulatory Service Representative (ASR) III performs detailed job requirements of a financial reviewer, patient service representative, PBX operator, appointments clerk and/or medical records clerk. The ASR III will perform other duties as assigned by the site manager.

Required Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED
• 2+ years medical office experience to include the following: Face to face customer service, cash handling, patient registration, appt. scheduling, medical billing, & experience in answering a multi-line telephone system, OR
• 1+ years of KSC experience as an Ambulatory Service Representative II
• EMR experience
• Familiarity with medical terminology
• Solid computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and web/Internet
• Proven excellent customer service skills in person and over the telephone
• Fluent in English, verbal and written

Preferred Qualifications

• 3+ years of working in a physician, hospital, or medical office environment
• 2+ years of insurance/managed care experience, to include insurance verification, being able to identify, communicate/articulate and understand the difference between insurance plans (HMO, PPO, EPO, etc.)
• Epic experience
• Demonstrated customer service skills, including the ability to use appropriate judgment, independent thinking and creativity when resolving customer issues
• Demonstrated ability to maintain strict confidentiality of all personal/health sensitive information
• Demonstrated ability to effectively handle challenging situations and to balance multiple priorities
• Demonstrated interpersonal skills which are required to interact with internal and external contacts in a courteous and patient focused manner
• Bilingual- English and Spanish communication skills (oral and written)

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The hourly pay for this role will range from $20 - $36 per hour based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
