WVUH West Virginia University Hospitals is seeking a Registered Nurse for WVU Student Health Services and Urgent Care. Staff Monday–Friday 8am–4pm during academic sessions; 4 x 10 hour shifts during university breaks. 40 hours weekly; non-exempt in the USA; WVU Health System values teamwork and patient-centered care.

The RN will apply nursing judgment, assess patient needs, educate families, and participate in performance improvement activities across clinics.

Qualifications

• Current RN license in state of service or multi-state via eNLC.
• May require temporary RN permit; obtain permanent licensure within specified timelines.
• BLS certification required within 30 days of hire.

Responsabilités

• Provide direct patient care in ambulatory setting using nursing process.
• Perform preliminary patient assessments via chart review and observation.
• Evaluate unstable/complex care scenarios and intervene appropriately.
• Use independent nursing judgment and collaborate with care team.
• Educate patients and families; document patient education in charts.
• Assist in orientation and development of colleagues; mentor staff.
• Engage in Performance Improvement activities and unit teamwork.
