Job summary

Cedar Wellness Center in Tacoma, WA is seeking a Licensed Registered Nurse to support our clinic. The role reports to the Clinic Director and offers an opportunity to impact a growing, tribally owned clinic focused on compassionate, whole-person care.

The RN will perform ambulatory nursing duties, patient education, methadone dispensing, and care coordination in a busy outpatient setting. A BSN is preferred with active RN license and ongoing CE credits.

Qualifications

• Graduate of accredited RN program, bachelor’s degree in nursing highly desirable.
• Active RN License in good standing.
• Must maintain continuing education credits as required by the Board of Licensure and organizational needs.
• 5 years clinical experience.
• One year leadership position highly desirable.
• BLS Certification, ACLS Certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ambulatory Clinical Nursing Care: Perform patient assessments, obtain vital signs, document clinical history, and identify physical or psychological needs.
• Ambulatory Clinical Nursing Care: Support ambulatory care visits including chronic disease management, acute complaints, wound care, and minor procedures.
• Ambulatory Clinical Nursing Care: Carry out provider-ordered treatments, tests, and interventions according to nursing standards.
• Ambulatory Clinical Nursing Care: Provide patient education related to medications, chronic conditions, preventive care, and treatment plans.
• Methadone Dispensing: Safely dispense methadone in accordance with federal, state, and tribal regulations.
• Methadone Dispensing: Maintain accurate controlled-substance documentation and daily dispensing logs.
• Methadone Dispensing: Observe and report patient behavior, withdrawal symptoms, or safety concerns during dosing encounters.
• Methadone Dispensing: Recognize and respond appropriately to opioid overdose or adverse reactions.
• Ambulatory Care Support: Prepare exam rooms, assist with procedures, and maintain clinical supplies.
• Ambulatory Care Support: Perform in-clinic testing (e.g., strep, flu, UA, UDS) and obtain specimens for laboratory processing.
• Ambulatory Care Support: Review lab results and communicate findings to patients under provider direction.
• Ambulatory Care Support: Support care coordination with specialists, hospitals, and community resources.
