Qualifications

• Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Registered Nurse (RN) licensed in Alaska.
• Valid Alaska Driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Schedule physical examinations and laboratory tests for patients.
• Assist the Medical Director in the delivery of services to patients.
• Assist the Patient Care Coordinator in the delivery of medical services to patients.
• Administer, secure and inventory methadone.
• Follow all DEA, federal, state regulations and CARF accreditation standards.
• Maintain patient electronic health records (EHR/EMR) and upload relevant information.
• Complete documentation for patient enrollments.
• Monitor urine drug screening process of patients.
• Provide continual health, first aid and emergency medical treatment.
• Review educational handouts about methadone treatment for new patients.
• Attend staff meetings and case conferences.
• Document nurse’s notes in EHR/EMR.
• Coordinate care for incarcerated patients.
• Monitor department inventory needs and communicate with Patient Care Coordinator.
• Maintain urine drug screen electronic records system and Lab Corp records systems.
• Collect blood specimens and complete EKGs as ordered.
• Document weekly weight and blood pressure for pregnant patients.
• Facilitate access to services and help patients obtain entitled benefits.
• Provide linkage between patients’ needs and community resources.
• Release personal information for Alaska criminal background checks.
