Job summary

Qualifications

• Minimum Education - Required: Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
• Minimum Work Experience: 1-2 years experience.
• RN - Registered Nurse license/registration required.
• BLS – Basic Life Support certification required.
• Knowledgeable in the workflows and policies at South Shore Medical Center; demonstrate flexibility and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day flow within the department and assign Nursing/MA tasks.
• Adjust staffing and schedules to cover sick calls and emergencies; notify nurse manager of changes.
• Monitor triage activity and escalate concerns as needed through chain of command.
• Communicate new workflows and policies; ensure compliance and staff understanding.
• Perform daily medication and needle audits and review urine/throat culture logs as assigned.
• Serve as day shift charge nurse and hand off issues to the evening team; coordinate with lab and radiology as needed.
