Job summary

Cencora is hiring a Concierge Pharmacy Technician for Reading Hospital Ambulatory Pharmacy. This 40-hour-per-week role supports discharge medication processing, patient communication, and bedside delivery within a 24/7 ambulatory setting.

The position requires PA Pharmacy Technician Trainee or PA Technician license (by June 2026) and a background in retail or hospital outpatient pharmacy. Prior authorization and billing knowledge are beneficial.

Qualifications

As of June 2026, all pharmacy technicians are required to obtain either a Pharmacy Technician Trainee license or a Pharmacy Technician license issued by the state of Pennsylvania.
Minimum of one year of experience in a community-based retail or hospital outpatient pharmacy or equivalent training and experience.
Experience with outpatient prescription program payer/PBM billing, Prior Authorization, and Claim Exception Facilitation.

Responsibilities

Collaborates with internal team to gather paperwork, prescription billing information, and prescriptions.
Answers inbound calls and triages to appropriate staff.
Create patient profile in the pharmacy information system and input all plan information for processing.
Support Concierge Service activities from intake to bedside delivery at discharge.
Coordinate with departments to resolve discharge medication issues and ensure access to medications.
