Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a qualified patient services and billing support specialist for our ambulatory care team in Wisconsin. You will handle scheduling, billing, and receptionist duties while ensuring accurate medical records and smooth patient flow.

Responsibilities include collecting payments, entering billing data, verifying insurance, and assisting clinicians to deliver high-quality care in a high-volume environment.

Qualifications

• One to two years of related customer service experience.
• Experience handling difficult callers, customers, or patients.
• Ability to function in a high-volume, multiple-task environment.
• Ability to work in a crowded or closely shared workspace.
• Ability to work under stressful conditions with demanding customers.
• Must lift up to 35 pounds without help.
• Use patient-handling equipment with at least one other associate for patient lifts over 35 pounds or when the patient cannot assist.
• Ability to work the specified weekend-program schedule: Friday 12pm–4pm and Saturday/Sunday 8am–4pm.
• Ability to work holidays when a holiday falls on the weekend schedule.

Responsibilities

• Provide efficient, effective, and quality customer service and practice support through scheduling, coding, registration, and billing.
• Collect payment at time of service and enter accurate, up-to-date billing information into the patient accounting system.
• Assist clinical staff in maintaining accurate medical records.
• Serve patients arriving for appointments or contacting the clinic by telephone or in person.
• Schedule appointments and provide information about tests, procedures, bills, charges, referrals, and other matters.
• Enter patient and payer billing information at time of service.
• Follow up accurately on missing billing information.
• Uphold practice and medical-group standards for accurate and timely medical records.
• Support providers and connect with patients as part of the ambulatory care team.
• Greet families and verify insurance.
