Job summary

Nantucket Cottage Hospital is seeking a Patient Services Coordinator to provide administrative support in a high-volume ambulatory setting. You will serve as the primary interface between patients and providers, managing check-ins, check-outs, appointments, referrals, and authorizations to ensure exceptional service.

Qualifications

• Must demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and be able to work cooperatively as part of a team and to work independently.
• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities with patients and staff.
• Proficiency with MS Windows and Office applications; familiarity with Epic systems desirable.

Responsibilities

• Schedule and reschedule patient appointments in accordance with guidelines.
• Answer and triage incoming calls; assist patients and families with problem resolution.
• Collect patient payments and verify demographic and insurance information.
• Coordinate referrals, prior authorizations, and managed care issues.
• Print pre-visit summaries and ensure smooth patient flow throughout the visit.
