Job summary

NYU Langone Hospital–Long Island in Manhasset, NY is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Ambulatory Surgery Center to deliver comprehensive patient care focused on assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Applicants should have at least one year of operating room experience and hold an active New York RN license.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Nursing required for employees hired after 9/1/2020.
• 1+ years operating room experience required or equivalent OR experience.
• Current New York Registered Professional Nurse license; BLS certification.
• American Heart Association BLS CPR certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Collect, assess, and document patient health data.
• Direct the patient, family, and team to plan care.
• Educate patients and families about health status and care plans.
• Evaluate progress toward outcomes and adjust care as needed.
• Coordinate unit activities and delegate nursing tasks.
• Participate in quality improvement and patient safety initiatives.
