About This Role

The Registered Nurse in the Ambulatory Surgery Center at NYU Langone Hospital–Long Island is responsible for delivering patient care with a focus on assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation. This role is ideal for nurses with a minimum of one year of operating room experience who are committed to providing safe and compassionate care.

What You'll Do

• Collect, assess, and document patient healthcare data.
• Direct the patient/family and interdisciplinary team to identify a realistic and measurable plan of care.
• Educate the patient/family regarding health status and established plan of care.
• Evaluate the patient's progress towards expected outcomes.
• Coordinate and direct unit activities to provide patient care in a healing environment.
• Analyze achievement of unit throughput efficiencies and metrics.
• Comply with professional standards and regulations.
• Organize staff assignments to ensure appropriate delegation of activities.
• Serve as a support, resource, and preceptor for nursing staff and students.
• Participate in quality improvement efforts to achieve organizational goals.

Requirements

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Nursing from an accredited institution required for employees hired after 9/1/2020
• Experience: 1+ years of operating room experience required
• Licenses & Certifications: Current Registered Professional Nurse in New York; BLS through the American Heart Association
