Job summary

Medical City Surgery Center McKinney, part of HCA Healthcare, is seeking an Operating Room Nurse for our ambulatory surgery center. You will contribute as a circulating or scrub nurse, ensuring safe and effective care until the patient transfers to recovery.

Responsibilities include instrument setup, room coordination during cases, patient care, and accurate charting. Strong nursing credentials and certifications are essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing.
• Active RN license as required by state or compact licensure.
• BCLS certification required at employment (online not acceptable).
• ACLS as required by facility; PALS preferred at some facilities; CNOR preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee instrument and equipment setup for the OR and anticipate surgeons' needs.
• Coordinate and oversee the room during a case as the circulator.
• Facilitate efficient transition between surgical procedures.
• Use proper body mechanics when moving patients to stretchers and tables.
• Manage patient care and medications, including anesthesia assistance.
• Review charts for completeness per documentation protocols before and after procedures.
