Job summary

Medical City Orthopedic and Spine Surgery Center, part of HCA Healthcare, seeks an Operating Room Nurse for PRN shifts at our ambulatory surgery center. You will circulate or scrub, ensure patient safety, and support seamless transitions between procedures.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in an operating room setting, preferably in an ambulatory surgery center.
• Active RN license as required by state of employment or appropriate compact licensure.
• BCLS certification upon employment; online certification not acceptable.
• ACLS as required by facility; PALS preferred.
• CNOR certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee instrument and equipment setup for the OR and anticipate surgeons' needs.
• Coordinate and oversee the room during a case as the circulator.
• Facilitate efficient transition between surgical procedures and ensure patient safety.
• Move patients safely using proper body mechanics.
• Manage patient care and medications, including assistance with anesthesia.
• Review charts for completeness per documentation protocols before/after procedures.
