Job summary

NYU Langone Health is seeking an Ambulatory Care Nurse (FGP) in OB/GYN to support coordination, integration, communication, implementation and evaluation of nursing practice and clinical policies and procedures.

In this role, the Ambulatory Care Nurse will participate in site and organizational quality and performance improvement activities, collect patient healthcare data, and collaborate with licensed providers to develop patient-centered plans of care.

Qualifications

• Current NYS Registered Nurse license; Bachelor's degree in Nursing required; Associate degree allowed with required progression plan.
• Basic Life Support certification.
• Two years nursing experience in the applicable area; enrollment in a Bachelor’s program to be completed within 2 years of hire.
• Strong communication and patient education skills.

Responsibilities

• Performs physical examinations and diagnostic tests.
• Administers medications (including vaccines and IV therapy) and provides wound care.
• Triage patients by phone and in person and provide education to patients and families.
• Coordinates with licensed providers to develop patient-centered plans of care.
• Directs and delegates to licensed practical nurses, medical assistants and technicians.
• Supports coordination of nursing practice and clinical policies and procedures.
