Job summary

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
• BSN required.
• Four or more years of previous nursing experience required.
• 2 years of acute care experience preferred.
• Experience in an ambulatory environment required.
• Past supervisory experience or demonstrated leadership experience required.
• Pediatrics experience highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Direct the daily operations of the department ensuring compliance with applicable standards and regulations.
• Participate in the nursing process to ensure the provision of quality patient care.
• Delegate staff assignments appropriately.
• Order supplies and maintain departmental inventory; ensure equipment is used properly and adequately maintained.
• Resolve patient issues and reports grievances appropriately to Manager and Providers.
• Promote a culture of safety by assisting staff to report incidents and follow policies.
• Ensure quality control through established measures.
• Assess staffing needs by maintaining a master work schedule and forecasting staffing needs.
• Complete weekly time sheets and address overtime; participate in budgeting for the department.
• Assist in selecting and hiring staff; oversee orientation and staff development plans.
• Coordinate and participate in staff training and evaluation; consult with Nurse Educator.
