Job summary

OU Medical Center is seeking an entry-level Ambulatory MRI Technologist to perform routine MRI examinations under direct supervision. The role emphasizes patient‑centered care, adherence to safety guidelines, and image transfer to EMR/PACS.

The MRI Technologist I will prepare patients, apply protocols, and collaborate with the care team to ensure high-quality imaging and documentation. Certification timelines are noted with BLS required.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited imaging, radiology or nuclear medicine program as defined by ARRT or ARMRIT.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) by AHA; ARRT(RT) or ARMRIT cert within 12 months.
• MRI Technologist I requires no prior MRI experience.

Responsibilities

• Provides safe, high‑quality, patient‑centered care under supervision.
• Prepares patients and correlates history with physician orders for imaging.
• Safely administers contrast per protocol and documents results.
• Transf ers images to designated systems and completes basic documentation.
• Performs operator‑level quality control, cleaning and basic equipment maintenance.
• Supports inventory tasks to ensure supplies are available.
