Job summary

Advocate Health Care is hiring a Medical Assistant to support the care team in a busy ambulatory setting. You will perform clinical and administrative tasks, ensuring patient safety and confidentiality while delivering compassionate care.

The role requires a Medical Assistant diploma or equivalent experience, with phlebotomy skills preferred. Typical schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM at Advocate Medical Group locations in Illinois.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Must have a medical assistant diploma or 2 years of medical assistant experience or be a certified MA with 2 years of medical assistant experience, to qualify.
• Phlebotomy skills are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Welcome patients and support their transition into care.
• Take and record vital signs, medical histories, and health screenings.
• Prepare patients for exams and assist providers during procedures.
• Administer medications and vaccines as directed.
• Perform lab-related tasks including specimen collection and point-of-care testing.
• Document care accurately in the electronic health record.
• Partner with physicians, nurses, and teammates to deliver high-quality, coordinated care.
