Job summary

Sanford Health in Marshfield, WI is seeking a Medical Assistant for ambulatory care. The MA collects vital signs, prepares patients for exams, and supports clinicians by relaying care instructions to patients and caregivers.

The role requires graduation from a recognized MA program or completion of required coursework, with BLS certification within six months and possible CMA/MA certification eligibility.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a recognized Medical Assistant program or completion of specified courses within 12 months of hire.
• Two years’ experience as a Medical Assistant required if education is not met.
• Prior healthcare experience preferred.
• BLS certification required within six months of employment, with recertification as required.
• Nationally certified or registered as a Medical Assistant (MA) is acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Collects subjective and objective health data from patients and communicates data to the provider.
• Contributes data to the patient’s plan of care under provider direction.
• Communicates the provider’s written care instructions to patients or caregivers.
• Assists in all phases of preventive care, health maintenance, treatment, and follow-up.
• Performs a variety of duties under the supervision of a licensed clinician, including vitals, patient prep, and point-of-care testing.
