Job summary

Sanford Health is seeking a Medical Assistant to operate within ambulatory care, collecting patient data and assisting in exams. You will obtain vital signs, prepare patients, and communicate data to the licensed practitioner under supervision.

The MA will participate in care across the lifespan, support the plan of care, and may perform point-of-care testing. A Medical Assistant program or equivalent coursework is required, with BLS certification within six months of employment; a sign-on bonus

Qualifications

• Graduate of a Medical Assistant program or completion of required courses within 12 months from hire.
• Prior experience in a healthcare setting is preferred.
• BLS certification required within six months of employment; re-certification as required.

Responsibilities

• Collect subjective and objective health data from patients and communicate to the provider.
• Obtain vital signs and prepare patients for examinations.
• Observe and report patient signs or symptoms; perform point-of-care testing as directed.
• Contribute data to the patient plan of care under supervision.
