Job summary

Hillsboro Medical Center is seeking a Medical Assistant to support providers in both front- and back-office tasks. You will assist with patient procedures, manage charting, and coordinate care following established policies.

The role requires a MA/EMT program or 1 year of ambulatory clinic experience, and a current BLS certification. Ability to work in a busy clinic with strong teamwork is essential.

Qualifications

• Required: High school diploma or GED and MA/EMT program or 1 year of ambulatory clinic experience.
• Required: Current Healthcare provider BLS certification or within 90 days of hire.
• Preferred: MA or EMT certification.

Responsibilities

• Schedules patient appointments using EMR and provider guidelines; collects co-pays and insurance information.
• Checks in and out patients; documents vital signs, weights, and other data.
• Obtains prior medical records and studies when appropriate; communicates results to providers.
• Assists patients to exam rooms and prepares rooms for procedures; supports sterile processing and minor procedures.
• Performs injections, venipuncture, EKGs; maintains clean, organized work areas.
• Trains and mentors Clinical Assistants; supports front- and back-office tasks to ensure a seamless patient experience.
