Memorial Hermann Health System is seeking a Medical Assistant to support providers in patient care across assigned clinical areas. You will assist with examinations, procedures, tests, dressing changes, and related administrative duties under physician supervision.

The role requires a Medical Assistant program, MA certification eligibility within 12 months, and BLS/CPR within 30 days of hire, with potential evenings/weekends and ability to float to other clinics.

Qualificações

• High school diploma or GED; completion of Medical Assistant program.
• Eligible for AMT, AAMA, or NAHP certification within 12 months of hire.
• RMA/CMA/CCMA or NRCMA credentials with BLS/CPR within 30 days.
• Six months of MA experience or completion of externship.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills; adaptable with patients and staff.
• Working knowledge of ICD9/10 and CPT coding and insurance procedures.

Responsabilidades

• Direct clinical supervision of the physician and adherence to policies.
• Deliver appropriate care to patients in a PCMH setting.
• Review charts for required labs and procedures; ensure reports are accessible.
• Record vital signs and document in EMR; follow safety guidelines.
• Assist with patient access tasks and coordinate returns to patients/pharmacies.
• Prepare examination rooms and escort patients; notify provider of readiness.
• Assist with examinations and procedures; hand instruments and monitor equipment.
• Perform testing (hearing, vision, breathing, EKG) and document results.
• Administer medications per seven rights; draw venipuncture and labs per policy.
• Recognize emergencies; monitor patients post-procedure and respond appropriately.

Formação académica

High school diploma or GED; Medical Assistant program

Eligible for MA certification (AMT/AAMA/NAHP)

RMA/CMA/CCMA or NRCMA + BLS/CPR within 30 days

Six months MA experience or externship

Good communication; ability to work with diverse groups

Knowledge of ICD9/10 and CPT coding
