Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking a Medical Assistant to support physicians and nurses in a fast-paced clinic, focusing on patient flow, exam preparation, and accurate documentation of visits. You will interact with patients professionally and safeguard confidentiality.

The role includes assisting with ECGs, venipuncture, immunizations, and CLIA‑waived testing, stocking exam rooms, and maintaining inventory and safety standards across the clinic.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Completion of accredited Medical Assistant training program is preferred.
• Must be eligible to sit for CMA/AMT/NCMA/CCMA/NRCMA certification within six months.

Responsibilities

• Ensure efficient patient flow and accurate documentation of visit reasons, allergies, and medications.
• Assist with ECGs, venipuncture, immunizations, and CLIA‑waived testing as directed.
• Prepare exam rooms, stock supplies, and maintain clean, safe treatment areas.
• Support providers and communicate effectively with patients and care teams.
• Adhere to opening/closing and confidentiality policies.

Education

Certification exam eligibility (CMA, RMA, NCMA, CCMA, NRCMA)
