Job summary

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred.
• Less than 1 year experience in ambulatory care, externship strongly preferred.
• Cardiology offices: 6 months experience or related degree/certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist providers with patient examinations and preparation; support clinical team for efficient patient flow.
• Perform venipuncture, vaccine administration, vital signs, and basic point-of-care testing as needed.
• Document care and procedures in the EMR; coordinate referrals, tests, and patient education.
• Maintain infection control, safety, and equipment readiness per MedStar Health policies.
