MedStar Health is seeking a Medical Assistant to perform clinical and administrative duties in an ambulatory care setting under supervision. You will assist with patient exams, venipuncture, and vaccination administration, while maintaining EMR documentation and supporting the care team.

The role involves patient flow management, preventive screening, and occasional cross-site coverage within the system. A CMA/RMA background and basic computer skills are valued.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred.
• 6 months ambulatory care experience or equivalent required.
• Externship in medical/ambulatory setting preferred; externship at MedStar Health may substitute for experience.

Responsabilités

• Assists providers with patient preparation for examination and minor procedures; supports education and flow of patients.
• Documents activities in the EMR and provides clerical support as needed.
• Performs point-of-care testing and basic patient measurements as directed by the provider.
• Screens patients for preventive care needs, safety concerns, and follow-up requirements; participates in care coordination.
• Maintains infection prevention, inventory, and environmental cleanliness per policy.
• Floats to other sites within the system and supports team with coverage as needed.
