Job summary

Brown University Health is seeking a Medical Assistant to support ambulatory care teams in Providence. Under supervision, you will perform clinical and administrative duties, greet patients, review records, and assist with exams while maintaining quality and patient-centered care.

You will handle scheduling, referrals, billing co-pays, chart updates in the EMR, vaccines administration, and ensure privacy and safety in a fast-paced clinic. Weekend rotation applies; pay range is disclosed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Medical Assistant certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greets and checks in patients, schedules appointments, and assists with discharge procedures.
• Performs pre-visit planning by reviewing patient records and updating the EMR.
• Collects co-payments and processes self-pay payments at the time of service.
• Assists providers with examinations and prepares exam rooms.
• Maintains patient privacy and infection-control standards.
