Job summary

UChicago Medicine is seeking a Medical Assistant for the Ambulatory Float Pool in the South Region (Chicago suburbs). The 100% onsite role covers Beverly, Flossmoor, Calumet City, Tinley Park, Homewood, Lansing, and Harvey, IL, with required local travel.

You will support patient care and flow under supervision of clinicians. Responsibilities include preparing exam rooms, assisting with procedures, charting, scheduling, and coordinating referrals.

Qualifications

• Must be a graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
• Certified Medical Assistant with active BLS.
• Minimum 1 year experience in a medical office or facility.

Responsibilities

• Support patient flow by assisting with exams and procedures.
• Prepare exam/procedure rooms and ensure infection control.
• Collect patient information, vital signs, and basic screening per provider.
• Assist with charting, scheduling, and coordinating referrals and tests.
• Support clerical tasks including records handling and front desk coverage as needed.
