Job summary

UMass Memorial Health in Worcester, MA is seeking a Medical Assistant II for the Ambulatory Float Pool. This full-time, on-site position supports physicians and clinic staff with EKGs, phlebotomy, injections, patient transport, and clerical tasks in a fast-paced ambulatory setting.

You will escort patients, record vital signs, monitor labs, and assist with exams under licensed clinician supervision. Strong teamwork and accurate documentation are essential, with a 9:00 am–5:00 pm schedule and

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) or Heart Saver (HS) certification from AHA or Red Cross.
• Medical Assistant credential approved by MA Department of Health.

Responsibilities

• Escort patients to examination rooms and record vital signs.
• Perform EKGs, phlebotomy and point-of-care tests as required.
• Prepare, document and administer non-intravenous injections when directed.
• Assist in routine physical examinations and clinical procedures.
• Review laboratory results and alert clinicians to abnormalities.
