Job summary

The University of California Davis Health in Sacramento is seeking a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) to provide licensed medical support to care teams and sustain an environment of goodwill in the clinic. The LVN will deliver optimum patient services within the vocational nurse scope of practice and be supervised by a physician or RN.

This is a per diem, 20% time position with on-site work and travel to multiple clinic sites in the greater Sacramento area as needed.

Qualifications

• ;California LVN license and CPR/BLS certification required.
• ;Valid IV therapy and blood withdrawal certification required.
• ;Graduate from accredited vocational nursing program.
• ;Minimum of 2 years LVN experience.
• ;Ability to pass pharmacology exam.
• ;Knowledge of medical terminology and patient records.
• ;Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• ;Ability to work independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

• Provide licensed nursing support to care teams and patients in ambulatory setting.
• Assist with care navigation, patient education, and documentation.
• Document and communicate patient status and care activities.
• Coordinate unit activities and patient teaching.
• Operate computer systems and input data accurately.
