Mayo Clinic in Minnesota is seeking an LPN for ambulatory care in the Baldwin Building. The licensed practical nurse provides patient-centered nursing care under the supervision of the registered nurse or provider, participates in care planning, and collaborates with the health care team.

The role requires a practical nursing credential, BLS, and strong communication. Daytime hours with 56 hours per pay period, Monday–Friday, 8-hour shifts, are available as part of a part-time schedule.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a school of practical nursing or passed LPN Boards after a defined period in a professional nursing program.
• Graduate of an accredited school of practical nursing preferred.
• One year LPN experience within the last five years preferred.
• Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
• Experience working in a team environment.
• Computer skills required, prior experience with electronic medical record systems preferred.
• Ability to work daytime hours, flexibility may be required to meet staffing needs.
• Ability to adapt to unpredictable situations within the work setting.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to assigned patients under the supervision of the RN or supervisor.
• Collect data through observation and communicate information to assist the RN/provider in patient assessment and care planning.
• Participate as a member of the health care team and accept delegation from the RN/supervisor and provider in meeting patient needs.
• Deliver care in accordance with the patient care plan and organizational policies and practices.
