Job summary

The 61st Street Service Corporation is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to join the patient care team at ColumbiaDoctors' ambulatory sites. The CMA will collaborate with physicians across multiple specialties to deliver high-quality patient care in a service-oriented environment.

Responsibilities include patient prep, vital signs, specimen collection, point-of-care testing, venipuncture, EKGs, and accurate EHR documentation.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
• CMA certification or equivalent is required.
• Current BCLS/AED certification required.
• Basic computer skills: EHR systems, Excel, Word, and email.
• Willing to work evenings and weekends across multiple sites.
• Prior outpatient medical assisting experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and visitors and answer calls promptly.
• Prepare patients for visits, take vitals, and reconcile medications.
• Assist with procedures and in-office testing as needed.
• Perform venipuncture and specimen labeling.
• Collect nasopharyngeal specimens and perform related testing.
• Conduct EKGs and spirometry as requested.
• Enter charges into the electronic health record accurately.
• Obtain prior authorizations for medications.
• Maintain QA logs and equipment and support daily operations.
